AMERICA’S BRAVEST - WRISTLET STYLE

This new firefighting glove in Red, White and Blue honors our bravest firefighters. The glove is constructed to a wing thumb design with seamless index finger for maximum comfort. The glove is made with finest red Eversoft Cowhide leather palm, grip strip and pull patch and a blue Eversoft back with white Nomex cuff. Eversoft leather is tanned with special tanning materials including silicon to enhance the waterproof qualities of the leather while keeping it extremely soft and durable even after drying. The new finger design ensures that this is one of the most comfortable gloves on the market. TPP ratings for this glove exceed NFPA requirements. Barrier - Duratex, liner -Modacrylic SEF. Sizes Cadet through XXL. This glove meets NFPA 1971-edition 2000 specifications Gauntlet version has a red cuff with a Nomex inner cuff to prevent debris entering through the wrist area

 DESCRIPTION: 

 Glove specifically designed and constructed for structural firefighting activities.  To be manufactured of material designed to withstand the effects of flame, heat, vapor, hazardous liquids, sharp objects and other hazards that are encountered during structural firefighting operations.

 Gloves shall meet or exceed Federal OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Standards), 29 CFR 1910.156 “Fire Brigades” (e) “Protective Clothing”, (4) Hand Protection. The National Fire Protection Association, NFPA-1971 standard “Protective Ensemble for Structural Fire Fighting” 2000 Edition.

 Documentation by an independent certified testing laboratory shall be submitted to verify gloves meet or exceed the NFPA 1971 (2000 Edition).  Third party certification shall be required to verify that gloves pass all the following parameters:

DESIGN:  

 Back of glove is Eversoft Split Cowhide, the palm, thumb and continuous forefinger is Eversoft Split Cowhide.   Gunn cut, wing thumb, five-fingered glove.  Back of glove shall have an elastic snugger band in the wrist area for secure fit.  Eversoft Split Cowhide leather welting shall be sewn on palm side of the two middle fingers for additional support.

 A COWHIDE leather patch shall be sewn in the thumb crotch area to alleviate stress of high wear.  A continuous index finger construction shall be used to eliminate exposed seams or stitching.  A fully sewn liner of Modacrylic (SEF) Self Extinguishing Fabric shall be permanently attached to a liquid proof one-way membrane bladder.  The bladder shall be attached to the liner by thermal adhesive to all fingers and thumb.  The bladder and liner assembly shall be sewn to each finger and thumb of the leather shell using Kevlar thread.  No stitches shall penetrate the bladder liquid proof area.  A 2” leather gauntlet cuff shall be required.   A leather hang-up loop shall be provided on inside of glove to facilitate drying and storage.

 MATERIALS: 

Outer Leather shell – Side Eversoft Split Cowhide  of not less than 3 oz or more than 3 ½ oz. Each glove shall be DUAL in color Blue/Red.  Welting shall not be less than 3 oz nor more than 3 ½ oz.  Leather shall be tanned to resist cracking, peeling, and stiffening and processed to reduce slipperiness when wet or frying when heated.

 LINER: 

The glove shall have a full hand liner, fully sewn fire retardant Modacrylic(SEF) Self Extinguishing Fabric a minimum weight 7-8 oz per square yard.  Material shall be napped on one side for comfort and warmth.

LIQUIDPROOF MEMBRANE: 

 A polyurethane film membrane completely sealed in the finger and sidewall area shall be used to prevent liquid penetration of the 5 test chemicals and water.  No stitching shall penetrate the membrane.  The membrane material shall remain flexible at sub-zero temperatures.

STITCHING: 

All outer stitching shall be of heat resistant Kevlar 30/3 thread or equal with a minimum of 8 stitches per inch.
